Did you know that your AEA has made eBooks available for you and your students? Steer your web browser over to the GHAEA site and click on Medianet. There are three choices; Mackin VIA, which contains all grade levels, Follett Elementary eBook Shelf, and Follett Secondary eBook Shelf. The really fantastic thing about these is that most students and teachers in Green Hills AEA have access to a digital devise most of the time as evidenced in the Clarity data. Therefore students and teachers can have their own accounts in these resources so that they can download and read books. This significantly increases your access to “print” especially non-fiction.
Both of these resources work on all digital devices; ipads, Android Tablets, Macs and PCs. You will need to download the app on the tablets for both MackinVia and Follett. They work similarly. The user will have a backpack or bookbag available once they log in which contains: checkouts, favorites, holds, notes and reading lists. They both have advanced search capabilities such as: reading level, interest level, genre or number of pages.
