Digital Tools for K-3 Literacy

I am into week two of my Coaching Digital Learning MOOC.  This week is called Connected Learning and they connected me to a new curation tool that I have not seen before.  Great find called List.ly  “Share your interests.  Engage your audience. Collaborate with friends.  Make beautiful and fun lisicles.  The simplest way to create, curate and share.”  (From about List.ly)

Since the state of Iowa has an early literacy initiative in process, I am always looking for digital resources to support it.  I searched List.ly and found this great list from Jayme Linton.  Digital Tools for K-3 Literacy is a great find for digital resources to support teaching and learning in the early literacy arena.

One that I especially liked is called Storyline Online.  “Reading to children has been repeatedly shown to improve their reading, writing and communication skills, logical thinking, concentration and general academic aptitude… as well as inspire a love of reading. The Screen Actors Guild Foundation records well-known actors reading children’s books and makes graphically dynamic videos so that children around the world can be read to with just the click of a Storyline Online video book image.”  –Quote from the website.

Take a look through this list to discover over 40 digital resources to help young readers.
